This book is labeled as "a sexy, enemies to lovers romantic comedy" and I was in the mood for something funny and naughty.
The story features Rebecca Fieldstone, who is working her way up at her local new station and is in line for a news anchor position. Things start to go wildly amiss along the way. Tiny beauty pageant princesses, monkeys who do naughty things on camera, and a coworker who is out to take the open position from her.
Cade Hill, former NFL quarterback, turned sports anchor, finds himself attracted to her snarky comebacks and curves. I wouldn't say this is really an enemy to lovers story as much as it is two co-workers who struggle with crossing that boundary.
The secondary characters add some spice to this book with Cade's brother Trent, and Rebeccas drag queen fortune telling roommate Chas lending some humor along the way.
For me, this book was cute and a little on the fluff side of having substance, and while I enjoyed the book, it was not laugh-out-loud comedy that I've read in other books.
But! if you are in the mood for a fluffy, cute story, that will make you smile, then this is a great book to read. Sometimes that is exactly the type of fictional world I want to be in when escaping into a book.
I would give this book 3 stars.
Happy reading- keep things a little on the naughty side!
