It took me a long time to join the e-reader world.
There is just something pure about the weight of a book. The vision of physical pages turning. It’s just an experience you can’t get with e-books. Although I read a ton of “one-clicked” books- I venture into my library now and then to read a treasure I already have.
That’s how I ended up in the world of Rush.
Gabe Hamilton runs a wildly successful business with his two best friends. His business and professional life are thriving. His personal life, however, is cold and calculating. His ex-wife made sure to leave quite the public mess of him and his sexual preferences behind in her wake, despite them always being consensual. Now his personal life is dictated by short term pre-determined arrangements that are all business and no emotions.
Until Mia. Little sister to his best friend and business partner, she has grown into a woman he no longer wants to resist. Convinced he can go through the same temporary arrangement with her, he is surprised to find she quickly becomes the Intricale part of his day.
Mia has never seen Gabe in any type of brother role. He was her teenage crush, but their interactions have shifted and are now as a woman and a man.
“ For a long moment he stared at her until heat crawled up her neck and to her cheeks. He didn’t simply look at her. He made her feel devoured by his gaze”
This books hits a few tropes in combining their 14 year age gap, best friends little sister, and a theme of bondage and control.
I give it 3.4 out of 5 stars. It felt like at times the story got a little slow in the middle but you get an HEA in the end!
Happy reading - keep things a little on the naughty side!
